Default Changing wiper switch

I couldn't figure out how to get the two plastic pieces off the steering column, and couldn't find anything but how to fix intermittent wiper fuses and such when i searched.

I know there's a star bolt on the bottom, but the two pieces shrouding the column I can't seem to get off. Is it just a trick manuever to get off?

IIRC there is more than 1 screw on the bottom shroud. And the ones holding the switch to the column are tamper proof torx .

There is 3 screws holding the bottom shroud! There is 1 screw in the middle that you can plainly see, which is the one you are talking about. But if you look to the left and right you will see 2 holes that have a screw in each one.

i believe that its a phillips head...ill check right now and let you know in a second. once you get that shroud off, youll need a raised-center torx to remove the switch itself. what isnt working, the wipers or something with the lights?

Man, I stuck a philips in there and it didnt catch on anything. I'll try it again.

Anyway, I just got a crapped out switch. It doesn't lock in the off position, so when I flip the blinkers to turn left or right, 9 times out of 10, when it kicks back into place, it'll turn the windshield wipers on and I have to play with it to put it in it's "g spot" to turn off. Oh, and when you depress the button to squirt your windshield wiper fluid, it's been jammed so that sensor part continually stays on. I had to disconnect the motor pump because of it.

Ok, guys, I'm weirded out now lol. Whatever screw that's in there, on both sides apparently, has no indentation as to what will unscrew it. Philips doesn't work and I can't get a star down in there, but when I looked in it with a flashlight, it had no indents on it.

thats odd...im not sure what to tell you about the screws. maybe yours is different than ours.

for that switch, theyre pretty expensive, but pghsebring bought a new sebring a few weeks back, and the wiper switch was bad..i took it apart and it was pretty simple to fix...
