I thought 13.5 was minimum output for an alternator

I think it varies by brand.... On the GM's I worked on, they wanted 14.7 volts nominal output.... (1200 RPM or better.)

My take on it was: If its putting out more than battery voltage, and can keep up with a full load of electrical thingies, it's all good.
