2-way radios in a ram
I already have a midland cb with 4 foot K40 whips in my '01 Ram. But now, i need a marine radio for farm and recreation purposes. I was wondering if it is possible to run both a cb and marine radio in my truck at the same time? I didnt know if they would interfere with eachother. If i had to turn one off to run the other, it wouldn't be a problem. just wondering if i can have them in the same truck. Then, my only problem would be finding a place to mount one. The cb was hard enough to fit, now the marine radio will be bigger. does anyone have experience with this? thanks
I am on a firedept. and have everything on the tranny hump stacked up on one another. My trucj is also a 4x4. I will try to get some pix later today for you.

thanks. so i take it they will work together? and i guess your pics will tell me, but do they get in the way of the cupholder if they are on the tranny hump? i appreciate the advice. i've had this truck since november and spent 2400 on driveline and other repairs due to unexpected and freak breakdowns. I'm still trying to build it up to the rig my old '95 ram used to be
now i see that you have a 97 ram. so i assume you have the cupholder at the top of the dash, not the fold out unit on the lower dash. show me how you did it, but i will have to check the clearance with my fold down cupholders. the interior is drastically different in the 98-01 rams when it comes to mounting things
not sure if it worked but here are pics of my current set up with the cb, and a pic of the cupholder in an 01 ram

this is all bery helpful but can anyone answer my first question? will both a cb and a marine radio work in the same vehicle at the same time?

CB is on the AM band and marine is VHF FM. Technically they shouldn't interfere with each other. Many state higway patrols were on VHF FM and they also had CB's in their cars with very little issue. If any radio has an issue it would more then likely be the CB. Most commercial FM radios have fairly good interference blocking technology in them to avoid this. However CB's generally don't. Make sure your grounding is good and locate the antennas away from each other if possible.
