Default 94 Ram 1500 A/C problem

First post. A/C blows hot air and the compressor cycles on and off. I bypassed the low pressure switch, put a gauge on the low pressure sideand filled the system with freon. Hooked the switch back up, compressure runs fine now but no cool air. I did notice the low pressure line going into the condensor is cold but the high pressure line is warm/hot. Any ideas? The A/C hasn't work in a year or so. It's hot here in Florida!

Thanks in dvance

Bob

Evaporator core is usually the case in these trucks. Just replaced mine 2 weeks ago.

Did you replace it yourself? If so, was it difficult?

Did it myself. Not bad took about 4 hrs. There's a complete how-to in the DIY link at the top of the page

krs7272, looked all over for the link in DIY. Only one I found was for a Dakota and that one was intense. Could I bother you to post the link?

Check the vacuum lines to the dash control.

Also what kind of pressure readings are you getting after adding freon? Even when my core leaked like a stuck pig it would at least hold for a few maybe and hour.
