II'm still not getting any spark after changing the primary coil, wires, plugs, and distributor and rotor. Any ideas?

 

Check your fuses in the PDC.

 

When I replaced my coil, I accidentally crossed a wire somewhere, blew the ECU fuse.

 

It broke really fine, could not see it at night with just a flashlight, had to wait until morning when I had some real light.

 

ya my guess would be the fuse that says engine or maybe a ground some where broke

 

A little about what happened.
Started the truck fine, put it in reverse, engine cut out. will not start from there on in.
Lately when it is humid, or raining it has been running rough.That's why I changed all those parts.
I was just told that the crankshaft position sensor could be the problem, but when I called the dealer they said that the primary coil was that piece, and I already changed that part. I tested the wires that go to the primary, and got a voltage there, so it should be working fine (unless I got a bum part.)
I don't really know what to try next, other than brining it in.
I also checked the fuses, and they are ok.

 

Bad coil or cap/rotor install.

 

I just had a no start on a 96 also. I tracked it down to a bad ground for the computer. Are you getting fuel??

 

I assume you replaced the ignition pickup (aka cam position sensor) in the distributor when you replaced the distributor. That was the source of my no-spark problem. It gave me the P0340 code.

 

The crankshaft sensor is the next thing on the agenda, today I replaced the ASD relay after reading that there should be around 75 ohms between pins 86 and 87 and I got a reading of no resistance, but that was not the prob in the end. The crankshaft position sensor is next on the list, but I wanted to try the 17$ route before the 110$ one(and a lot of time due to it's tough locale). I'm pretty sure that the wiring to the distributor was done correctly, but what the hell I might as well check them again. I think the truck may have to go to the shop soon though because it is a work vehicle . Dam good one too. Thanks for all the ideas all.
