Default Project roll bar begins

I dont know if anybody has tried this yet but i bought a light bar from an extended bed ram, and i have a short bed so u can see in the picture my problem. I fabricated up some cardboard that im going to make into steal tonight. We will see how it goes, im going to weld the metal to the bed of the truck, inside the box im going to weld the nut to it so if i ever have to remove the light bar i can just unbolt it. Once i have it all fabbed up im gonna pull it back out strip it down and paint it all. What color should i paint it? Flat black, high gloss black, or the same color as the truck? Any tips greatly appreciated.

id say depends on what style you are going for. I would paint it flat black. i like the trucks that look mean and could just run into/ over anything and keep going but thats just me

But seriously you should take it to a body shop and have it painted to match your truck. And if you put lights on it get black ones and then paint the housings to the color or your truck. It'd make it look really sick!

Looks like you move the 3rd brake light over to the light bar... what did you do to fill the hole in the cab? Or was the light already in it?

To be different... maybe rhino line the bar? Should be durable enough if you have anything rattling around in your bed.

The brackets you will make will be ok for use as a light bar... but it likely will do nothing in the event of a roll over...

Good luck,
Cartman

Didnt plan on using it for a roll bar lol, the third brake light was already installed in the roll bar. Think im gonna paint it green like the truck and clear it. Benefits of working at a body shop u get work for the cost of materials. Didnt get the brackets made yesterday, feeling lazy we will see how it goes this weekend

Ok new paint idea. What do u guys think of doing black bed liner from the bed line down so that way when stuff gets tossed in there it dosnt scratch things up, and from the bed line up ill do the same color as the truck along with clear coat. whatya guys think would work best?
