I'm going 70 and they think I'm going over 100.
This is what my dad has on his truck, stock manifolds, magnaflow cat, stock intermediate pipe, then a dynomax turbo muffler that we bought at advance for $20. With the stock intermediate pipe it comes out 5 inches after the bed. We had the stock tailpipe on the truck but took it off cause it was too quiet. Sometime we are going to put a 90 on the end of the muffler then a dual tip (so it comes before the tire) that i saw on a indy ram that looked really sweet. Also a Turbo muffler is nice in the cab when crusing, but when you open her up it is nice and loud. We can wold a conversation in the cab even when the windows are down going around 45-55 mph. Little noise though when the windows are down and radio on

Originally last summer I had a catback flowmaster super 44 exhaust system installed. I also had the magnaflow cat put in with the system too. It sounded great and didn't drone as bad. Then I wanted to step it up a little bit, and has the magnaflow cat gutted. It made it louder. Once I had the longtube headers and 3" y-pipe installed though, that's when things started getting very over bearing. So I think it's defiantly contributed by the longtubes and big y-pipe. But I obviously am not going to get rid of those. So looks like I'll be buying another magnaflow cat again. I don't mind losing a few decibals in return of a little more comfort on long trips.

Good decision.

well since were on the age thing, im 18 and im amazing at jump rope hahha. Gotta love wrestling, anyway id say keep your muffler how it is now, stop wasting money on that and get the highflow cat. Its pretty much agreed that you need a cat. Also, tips do play a part in sound, it wont effect the drone but fatter longer tips produce a louder deeper echo. The sound kinda rolls out of the exhaust. Either way, get a kitty.

Regular or double dutch??LOL

I got a mean hopscotch game.

You're right about the tips, they can make it echo slightly differently depending on what size you are changing from and to(like a 2 inch tip to a 4 inch tip),but really wont effect the drone inside the vehicle as you said.
