Yes, the 3815 and SCT both have three tunes: towing, performance, and economy. Performance and towing are designed for 91/93 octane, I believe, and economy for 87.

Lastrights, where did you pruchase the tuner? I also have a 2000 5.9 4x4 and installed the Hypertech PIII a few months ago. I've only noticed minimal results.

I still find the ~46 hp gain on the 5.9 hard to believe... someone go dyno it and post up results.

yes, you still get performance from the 87, dont put 87 in and put it on 91 octain performance, you will prob get ping........ "highway" i ordered from superchips website so if i didnt like it i could send it back, but i love it so im not sending it back..... but the guys on here with the 5.9 i would reccomend it "highly", not sure about the 5.2 prob good for that motor too, dont forget you can always send it back if you dont like it.

APPLICATION COVERAGE 2003-2008 5.7L Hemi Ram Pickup
2000-2003 4.7L Ram, Dakota & Durango
1998-2003 5.9L Ram, Dakota & Durango
1998-2001 5.2L Ram
1998-1999 5.2L Dakota & Durango
1998-2002 3.9L Ram, Dakota & Durango
1999-2003 4.7L Jeep Grand Cherokee

I understand any of the engines that exist/existed after '03 that currently don't have support will be supported starting with the '08's and working their way back. So, I guess basically that means the '04s would be the last to be added.
Nice thing now is that instead of having to ebay the thing when I do the cam and get the SCT, I can just move the Superchips over to my '02 Grand Cherokee 4.7 H.O.

Jason W.: Unless it's different with the SCT for 5.9s, I'm told by my local performance shop (an SCT authorized dealer & tune writer) that the unit for the Hemi ships with NO tunes. My understanding is that you then get on the website & download up to three that would be the closest fit to your mods and needs. The database is relatively small now, but is expected to fill rapidly. Of course, you can also pay additional for custom tunes written specifically for your mods optimized with information from a dyno.
Most offer "tweaking" of these tunes for no additional charge...

i think the sct will kill a stock motor or really lessen the life of it, sct is good for a internal also bolt on built motor.

I just checked the SCT web site to be sure, it does ship blank. There is no mention of a d/l database, but I was told that's the eventual plan. Right now the only option is to have up to three custom tunes done on it by an authorized dealer.

Note: This device ships blank. Do not order this device unless you are having it custom tuned by an SCT dealer.
