That turns your overdrive gear (4th gear, O/D) off. That is used when you are pulling a trailer or something and don't want the tranny shifting into that high of a gear.

The one on the right should turn your fog lights on and off.

Either your O/D isn't working or the light burned out (doubtful on the light).

When I drive through deep water (such as the flooded streets in OKC today), my O/D light will illuminate. I believe my connector to the O/D module is bad.

The O/D button on my 1995 Dakota was very stiff as well, but it would illuminate when O/D was turned off.

I'd get it checked out.

The switch does not click in and out like the fog light it is always "out", but, when the O/D is off it should be lit. Just get on the highway do 55-60mph and hit the button if the tranny shifts down its the light in the switch, if it does not shift, it could be the module.

same thing happened to me but it was with the fog light button, i took apart the button and there was a either a broken clip or spring, i dont remember, but i rigged it so that the fog lights stay on with the driving lights and parking lights, dont think you wanna do that with the o/d button but its fairly easy to take apart and see if that is the problem so you know either its the button or something more.
