LOL, well, I had a major set back because of Hurricane Ike. At one point during the storm, I didn't know if I was going to have a truck worth rebuilding! Then, I had to wait 2 weeks for my power to come back on, etc. Heads and valve train are back in, and I'm taking my kegger over to the machine shop to get boiled out. Also contacting Fastman to see if I should get 50 or 52 mm TB. Everything should go together fairly quickly once I get the kegger modded the way I want it. Haven't figured out how much runner I want to remove yet. I'll try and post some new pics this weekend.

Well, I've made some good progress the last two weekends on the engine. Here is a pic I took last night:

Getting the keg on was a fairly tedious proposition with all the gradual torqing it requires. I did it per the book, so hoping there are no leaks. Also installed 180 t-stat and 52mm Fastman is ready to install once I get the sensors on it. I decided to keep the keg stock and see if I'm satisified with the performance first.

The plan is to finally turn the key next weekend if I get my PCM back from B&G in time. Still need to install cast iron exhaust manifolds, injectors, new plugs, accessories, and cooling system. Once the engine gets run in, I will have a custom 3" single exhaust installed with new Magnaflow cat and Flowmaster 50HD.

Will do. Hoping for a trouble-free start-up. I've never driven this truck without a miss, so looking forward to that!

that ike was one hell of a storm. it ****ed up the jet stream and caused a huge windstorm across south Indiana, northern Kentucky, and Ohio. We had winds of 84 MPH. it really sucked cause most of our power crews were down in Texas helping down there.

And I was very greatful for your Indiana linemen! Although it was an NC crew that finally got my power back on. Ike came threw and thrashed me, and then my insurance adjuster came through and thrashed me again!

hey glad yours is moving along. Mines still sitting. Lost my job worked my last day yesterday. Got a severance check but its nothing to jump for joy about. I hope to order some of my parts from it but kinda worried I wont have money to cover my other bills. I need the truck for the winter though so I gotta finish it.

Anyway I was wondering did you use anykind of assembly lube or break in lube or did you just use grease?
