Default Interrior Cleaning

Ok, so im curious to see what everyone uses to clean their dashes with. Do you use armor all wipes? Which ones? I want to get that clean, with shine on my dash. I have black interrior just for additional information. So what you guys use? What protects the dash the best? Ive heard people using Meguires stuff a lot. Oh and what do you use to clean the roll up tonnue (i think leather??) covers ?

I just use a dry dusting rag. From what ive heard its bad to use armor all on our dashes because it can cause it to crack, someone correct me if im wrong.

When my dash was all apart, I pulled the pieces off individually and used "Tuff Stuff" with a tire cleaning bursh to get all the dirt and gunk out of the texture of the plastic. After that, either use Armor All (spray and let dry; don't wipe off or it won't shine as well) or you can use Meguires Back to Black.

Honestly, the Armor All myth isn't confirmed. If you have one of the later 2nd gen Rams, it is only a matter of time before your dash cracks, if it hasn't already. From what I understand, Dodge had the plastics made overseas, and more than likely, the company cut corners which caused the plastic to be brittle and prone to cracking.

I used Lexol plastic cleaner on a dashboard once and it made it so reflective that I saw my dash about as much as the road on the windshield. It took a week to fade and three weeks until it was back to normal. Now I only use water or glass cleaner to get the dust off and nothing that would cause it to shine. I'd keep it in mind or at least spot test it - I've never used ArmorAll on a dash. I wouldn't want anyone to get the same dangerous glare that I did.

I'm with Silver360. I think a "flat" finish is best on a dash. Same logic as the flat black paint on the hoods of some "performance" cars.

Vacuum, water, clean rag/towel on my dash.

When I had a vinyl toneau, I did use a spray protectant, can't remember what it was called now. Sprayed it on, wiped with a clean rag. Looked good, I think Turtle Wax made it.

I used to use armor all wipes on pretty much everything on the insides of my cars untill I got the ram. I purchased it used and the dash was intact used the armor all on it about 3 or 4 times before it started cracking, thats what I blame the cracks on since I did the whole reflective sunshade thing and kept the windows cracked to prevent it... thats the only thing I could think would cause the perfectly good dash to go to hell so quickly for me. strictly a damp rag to remove the dust for me now with the new dash.

no, he meant the later models of the second gens, the most common I have heard of it on is the 01's, but I have heard the occasional '00 or 99. I have been using meguiars on my dash for as long as I have had my truck going on 2 years now and never have I gotten any cracks or blemishes. As far as I could tell though, if you do it once, you have to do it consistently otherwise your dash will end up looking worse because dust sticks to the armor all alot and the meguiars a little.
