hi all, i have a 95 with a 5.2 so i figured that since i only have a front sensor it wouldnt hurt to gut my cat......i drove it for a week b4 getting my tailpipe welded back up and now that it is i got a light within 10 miles....dont have an OBDI scanner, so im not sure what it is.....it couldnt be from the gutting could it?

 

Could be, Autozone by me does free CEL scans... Got one by you? stop by and check em out, at least then you could have a reason for the light, and if they dont have a scanner they should know how to read the code that flashs.

 

Yes it is probably, you need an O2 sim or you can try getting one of those sparkplug fouler adapters and see if it works.

 

well, i took it for another drive, same distance and there was no light.....wierd

 

gutted my cat. no codes lights or codes. remember just to gut, do not remove the cat.

 

why not remove it and put an h pipe with an o2 bung?
