socket sizes?

Default socket sizes?

1998 Ram 1500 4x4, what size socket is the 12 pt bolt that holds on the frt. wheel brg. there are 3 of them, also, what size socket fits the center axle nut the large one in the center of the rotor ??

14mm for the hub bearing bolts and 1 11/16 for the axle nut.

yes, and the torque is like 175 ft/lbs., so get a nice 3/4" breaker bar and a can of grunt.

And the 3 bolts holding the hub on are 125 ft pounds. And put some anti seize compound on them, and around the new hub where it seats inside the spindle.. And btw, you'll want good quality impact sockets for both.

One of these days I gotta break down and buy and air compressor. I just keep thinking "that's $300 I could spend on mods."

i just did both front bearings on my '95 1500 4WD, and i just used the impact to take the hub nut off, came off easy if u got the 1 11/16 socket with a 3/4 to 1/2 adapter. also, while yer in there do yer u-joints if needed. cuz if not gotta take all that stuff apart again to do them

Nothing like have the right tools. I've got them all and except for removing the freakin steering intermediate shaft with a broken off bolt head! Life is good. LOL
