PC,

You're way overthinking this man! It's just a converter. You don't live in California, you'll pass emissions with a high flow cat if your truck's running right. Just take it to an exhaust shop and ask them if they can take off the old cat and weld on a universal magnaflow cat. It'll cost you around $200.

I think the CA is the ones that are for CA. However, the one I got from Summit says that too but I highly doubt there is much of a difference but there may be. I like mine although mine isn't that one. I used the 3" in out. Some trucks need that one some need a 3" in/2.5" out or a 3" in/out like mine with a reducer. I like mine. I highly doubt your going to notice much of a difference with any cat unless yours is bad. I noticed a slight difference when I had mine installed but not much of one.

Actually on second though I thought that one you had was the dual in single out it's not. I just looked at the link. Do you have the stock headers and y pipe? If so you need a 3" in/ 2.5" out or a 3" in/out with a reducer on the end. The 2.5" will be too small. Unless you have an aftermarket setup with the 2.5" pipe where it goes into the cat.

At least mine was 3" in/2.5" out I assume all that take that style cat are.

I think you are going to need a different one.

All that is unless the 5.2L's use a different setup which I'm not sure of since I have a 5.9L.

That's the one I used. I think 01DodgeRam360 also used this but I'm not 100% sure. I know I gave him that link and he said he was going to use it. jason.w also uses one like it. His is a different part # and is 16" long instead of 13" long. Either should work as a muffler shop could probably make it fit. On second though with a 16" you may have to relocate the rear o2 sensor not sure. The 13" fit perfect and was about like the stock one size wise. Or length wise. It had room for a reducer and the local muffler shop that did the rest of my exhaust made it work.

Thanks for the post, and it makes me feel better that you have a CA ending on your cat part number as well. I was figureing I could get a 3" to 2.5 adapter that they can weld to the y pipe. then just slip fit it to the stock pipe that goes to the muffler. That was my thinking at least. Bluebeast2 has this cat, as well as a few others. Guess ill find out soon enough. I was thinking the CA stood for california, but on second thought those cat's are like at least twice what i paid. I got mine for 75 which is still a little high, but oh well.

Remember I got mine off ebay so it could be different. Its just a universal one that was 2.5 in and out I think. I made them make it fit
