Default Set me up for a high flow

Well im just about to place my order for my highflow cat. Its a 2.5" I/O Dynatech PowerCat. Im gonna have a shop hopefully weld it in place (im drawing a blank as to who would.... who did your's bluebeast2?) Aim I think I talked to you about this cat before, but is there anything else I need? Next thing... The o2 sensor's im planning on replaceing. The suggested o2 sensors of the forum are NGK's but where can I get ngk's from? Autozone, Napa, Parts Plus, all do not. I want to do this cat this weekend when I get home so im planning on ordering here soon so I can get everything setup. Just want to make sure I won't need anything like an extender, non-foulers, o2 sim etc. Set me up guys.

Thanks in advance

I'm using Standard Motor Products(SMP) 02 sensors in mine with a Magna Flow high flow cat and have no probs. No foulers neeed. If you have to have the NGK's go to there website and do a search for dealers.

And BTW, most foreign auto parts stores will have or can order NGK products.

I think you might be able to get them at Advanced Auto Parts .FR5-1 is what you want I believe. That # is for a 98 5.2 . The # for a 2001 5.2 is different , and there is more options for some reason.

Sounds good. Im not that picky actually but thanks zman17 for the info. I talked to Bluebeast2 about where he got his done. Im plannin on having mine done at the same place. The only thing im concerned about with this highflow is throwing a cel, and I NEED to be able to pass emissions.

If you asked me everything here instead of on AIM my post count would be higher. It might look like I know something :P

lol but u wern't on aim when i asked. Well I bought the cat, and a front o2 sensor is on the way. figure i'll re-use the rear o2 sensor to see if I get a code. If I do, ill get a sim, if i dont .... ill leave it or buy a new one down the road. I'll call the shop tomorrow and schedule an appt. Cant wait!

A highflow cat may or may not throw a CEL. You just have to run it for a while to know for sure. If you need one, go to www.thefastman.com and get one.

BTW, the rear O2 sensor is the only one you should probably sim. The other one is not sim-able to my knowledge as it is far more involved in managing fuel trims than the rear.

:/ well I canceled my order. for some reason I wasn't feeling so hot about buying that cat knowing that it was for off road only. (then again.. so are the y-pipes for pacesetter) But what ever. As soon as I ran across the "pypes" catalytic converters... and said highflow but still 50 state legal, it made me think. (yup.. theres my problem.) Well... I have a couple options

The pypes CVM10 and the CVF10. One is a supersmall cat, and is rated for 5.0 and below something...... which means i should probably go for the cvf10 which is rated for the 5.9 and below, but... it has an air tube. The cvf10 is like the magnaflow I guess. So right now im doing circles. I thought I was done and had everything ordered, then i came across that pypes cat thats legal, at half the cost so thats why I canceled my order. Can I weld that tube shut for the cvf10 and call it done? I HATE THIS!!! this is exactly why I never got one before.

EDIT

Im not going to buy one now. I'll pick one up at the Fall carlisle on the 4th. Have it installed Oct 17th when im home again. Cabela's on the 18th.
