I don't know the brand of my muffler, it has a stock look to it, but it sounds okay. When you open the throttle it acts like a stock muffler, but at low RPMs it had a nice mellow tone. When it rots, I want to get a 70 SUV series.
Here is a review i found on that model.

OK, maybe they made the change in 1998. My apologies.

But it is not 3" all the way through. Take a look at it sometime from underneath your truck, its 2.5" between the converter and muffler, and 2.5" for half the length out of the muffler until right before the curve to exit out the side.

No need for appologies, one cannot be expected to know everything about all years. I barely know anything about my year. I just happen to know my exhaust size since I had my cat replaced (2in1out).
and true, its not a full 3" all the way.

Its nice to have that last bit 3" and have everyone that drives by thinking you have a big 3" exhaust though.

Check out the gibsons. They have a nice growl rumble and are fairly priced.

The Edelbrock cat-back systems sound pretty sweet on the Dodge V8's
