oil pressure
mine usually stays above the 40 mark IIRC. I'll have to watch it closely tomorrow.
You don't need a new pickup tube, I just made sure there was no obstructions in the screen. There was some metal slag in the screen from the old pump. I replaced the pump with the HV pump when I replaced the rear main seal just as a preventative maintenance measure.

Mine runs 40psi or more at all times
Rule 1 on oil pressure: For every 1000rpm you MUST have 10psi of oil presure any less and bearing failure will occur. You should have No less than 18psi EVER. 17psi and below the hydrolic lifters donot have enough oil pressure to stay pumped up so they start to collaps

Under light cruising (like at approximately 1900 RPMs on interstate at around 70 mph), I will usually be around, I guesstimate from the needle position, 30 psi. When I give it 3/4 throttle or more to get her moving, like ya gotta do sometimes, it will go up to around 50-60 psi.
My Dakota did that too after I switched to synthetic oil, figured that was the cause of the increased variance in oil pressure.
