Default tire dilema

I have 22 inch rims on the truck I just bought. the back two need replaced and the rims are not in the greatest condition- chrome bubbling in some places. I have the stock rims with no tires. What should i do?

1. replace the 2 and drive it.
2. replace the stockers with the biggest tire I can fit on the rim and sell the 22's.
3. rechrome the 22's- i know expensive, and replace the tires and put a 2-3 inch lift on.

I also will be using this truck to pull my T/A to the drag strip, and don't know if the 22's can handle it. It will be a open trailor BTW. The 22's look kinda weird on stock ride height, but not to bad.

Personally, i'd swap in the stock rims with a nice set of tires for towing.

Then again, I hate big rims on pickups.. so i might be biased.

what is the biggest tire I can fit on the stockers? 265 or 285. I don't want the buldging on the side look= unsafe as well.

that just seems like a way too big of a tire to put on a 16x7 inch rim.

I thought the 285's would be pushing it.

If yours is a 2wd, the 285s will rub on the lower control arms.

Yeah, I'd probably go with 265's on a 2wd.
