Default good deal?

A local dealer is selling a 2001 4x4 Ram 1500 with 67,661 miles for $8,995. It is a four door automatic with 5.9 liter v8 with these options. Is this a good buy?
Thanks

You will probably find that these types of questions leave people pretty cold and won't elicit many responses. When someone comes into a forum community and asks for their very first question "Is this a good deal?" and lists a truck they are looking at, people get turned off.

You also miss giving a complete picture. What is the condition, where is it located, trim level, etc.

The best thing you can do is go to Kelly Blue Book, NADA guides, etc and get a quote on a price for the vehicle you listed. Then, look at the classifieds and maybe Craig's list for your local area and see what similar trucks are selling for.

Ultimately, it is really what you want and whether you feel that you won't see another truck like it for a similar price in your area.

From my purely personal perspective, in today's economy and depressed truck market, I would expect to get more truck than that for 9 grand.

sounds like a pretty good price for the miles and the year, don't know what the condition is but do your checks (fluids, test the tranny, 4 wheel drive, noises, etc)....maybe a pic or two? let us know what happens!

That sounds like a pretty fair price for the truck. However, with things the way they are, I'm willing to bet they'll come off that price a bit if you're patient.

no. its way too high. check KBB or NADA for pricing. and now with gas so high, trucks and suv's are a dime a dozen.

KBB is geared in the dealership's favor usually. I usually find that Edmunds.com is much more realistic.

+1, i work part time at a RV dealership, and we go by NADA or blackbook when buying,, seems to be when people are buying from us the say we are lower the KKB, i think KKB is to to high.... that my two cents. and good luck
