just installed high flow cat !!!
so i went up to meinike with this new cat. so they tried telling me , it was already done, i was like dude thats stock cat. he said dont put it on you will lose power, and truck wont be louder, so now im thinking wtf wasted money on a another cat , so i was like f*ck it, just put the new one on i already spent the money, so they did, he fired it up, the exspression on his face was priceless (also mine). it is so freaking loud. were both really surprised.
so anyone to make there truck louder, high flow cat is the way to go, i get so many looks and its funny to me.
also i had the single chamber cherry bomb extreme on, and there a great combo together will be putting up a video

Ya, my Magnaflow high flow cat made my truck louder too. Performance wise, it really didn't do much. Opened up the top end some so I could pull harder at higher RPM, but didn't notice much at mid to low RPM.
This is what I experienced. I couldn't notice much of a performance difference although it seemed to help a tad bit but I also changed the o2 sensor so not sure which helped. It did make it louder though. Not a ton but way more raspier if that's the word. Not sure that's the word to describe it.
Yeah, I told ya it would be. Its closer noise level to no cat that it is to the stock cat. The only huge difference between no cat and the high flow is the lack of popping when decelerating from low backpressure...without a cat there is a lot more popping.

Maybe the PCM needs more time to adjust the A/F ratio, and since it's breathing easier and you are getting on it more to hear the exhaust it's cleaning itself of carbon build up. try a couple tanks with some techron and see what it does. It might even throw a code and you'll need to change or put an O2 sim on it.
Ya, my tail pipe is coated with black too (mostly on the inside, but some right around the tip) after I installed a high flow cat, but it doesn't mean much in my opinion. Truck runs in the perfect A/F ratio, and has passed emissions with flying colors several times since I installed the high flow cat.
