I have the MSD 8.5 wires on my truck, how often should i change these out? They have been on for about 6 years? Also where can i find upgraded cap/rotor?

steve05dodgeram630 swears by the mopar performance cap and rotor.

Inspect the wires for cracks in the protective coating and poor connections at the terminal crimps. If they check out, reuse them.

i just pulled and changed the distributor cap and rotor using the Napa brass contact ones,
and measured my Magnecor wires after cleaning them.

I was very impressed that the Magnecor CN125 wires still measured the same ohms and showed almost no heat damage to the silcone insulation, and very little physical damage
.... and this is after ten years and 155,000 miles

I like the Napa cap/rotor with brass terminals. You can test your wires and inspect them for signs of craks or burns. Probably be fine to reuse them. Defiently replace cap/rotor though, that is what will be worn out.
