Ok it's a bypass valve. Or Air Bypass Valve. Not sure what the actual name is. I'm seeing it called both.

Sounds seized to me. Maybe its not to bad and some wd-40 in the cylinders will help break it free.

by what you just wrote, not for mudding, its two wheel drive but ok, and yes, my stock intake sucks water, and that one is out in the open, really open, it would have been better if you could built like a coweling for it to stop the water but tht alot of work. soon here, probably within the next month i am building my own intake. does anyone know if there is anything i can do to make the oval intke i have like the tubing i guess) make it round, or am i going to have to do like he did and put on of those caps on? casue i am going to be building my own " humvee" style intake, but it has no filter to it so i am trying to keep the factory one.

by the way glad to here your truck is running. well will be running. but i think you should keep building, get creative. im sure youll come up with something

yeah, i like to be creative.....to transition from the oval to a circle you can just get a rubber coupler for a hardware store, probabl "4 in diameter and that should work....what i have on mine is from a durango..but dakotas work also....you have to put in a threaded rod though to hold it on.
