My towing competition with a 350 chevy. no pics :(
Well heres the deal i have my 96 1500 with a fabulous 360 in it. I have a short ram intake, modual chip, dynomax dual exhaust with a dynomax super flo welded single inlet dual outlet and various astetic modifications done to my baby.
this guy comes into my work alsmot everyday he has a 350 chevy with a 6 inch lift kit and some beefy tires. not to sure of the exact size, but he kept bragging to me about how he could tow my "piece of sh** dodge" around like it was a neon. so i kept telling him to bring in chains yet he never did. so finally thursday he lived up to hos word and we hooked chains.
I believe he left about half his ties on the pavement and 3/4 a tank of gas in the air. when he went to pull me i just eased into the gas. all i can say is i thought his truck was about to explode from the high rpms so i pull him a good ten feet and let off, but he is still going so i get pulled back maybe five feet, after being towed 5 feet myself(only because i let off the gas) i gunned it and came out of being towed to tow him another 20 feet, needless to say he admitted defeat.
long story short there was a lot of smoke and a lot of dodge **** kicking.
unfortunatly i didnt get any pictures.. but i am horribly proud of the story. figured i would share

The 350 small block is one of the most reliable engines ever put into a vehicle. I see GM truck's of all years around here all the time.
because our dodges keep twisting their frames! lol

The 350 was a good engine, just not as powerful as a Dodge's 360.
I see a lot of Chevys still on the road around here, but many of them are rust buckets. I also see just as many on sales lots, or in for repairs in shops' lots. However, its usually not because of the engine.
I see Dodge Rams of the same years as ours around here all the time, and usually with over 100,000 miles, and they appear to be in better shape than their Chevrolet counterparts with the same mileage. The Chevrolets are decent trucks for a short while, but after a certain mileage, they just seem to fall apart (and to answer those who say Dodges fall apart, I'd answer the Chevrolets fall apart even more than our Dodges).
