Glad you got it sorted out squirrels, and glad you like your Canon. I have the SX100IS and love it as well.

Not to thread jack, but I have a semi-related question... I recently acquired an intake manifold thats had the runners cut down and everything for me. It is from a 1999 Dodge Ram, so with that PCV comment you made earlier, are you telling me it won't work in my 2001? The guy who sold the thing to me told me it'd work in any Ram made 1998 and newer.

Thanks in advance, and Happy Thanksgiving to you too.

It might work, but the vac accessory port may be on the wrong side as well. I didn't want to chance it, and didn't bother asking to see it. You can run a longer tube to get the PCV to the other side, hell you might even be able to switch valve covers. I dunno about that, never tried it. I would be a little concerned that running a tube that could potentially fill with oil might cause premature PCV failures over and over. I would think that the longer the hose and the more bending it has to do, the more likely that may become.

With the price they were trying to stick on me, I was interested in going that route anyway. The 1999 may still be the same, but I know they switched late in the 2nd generation models, just not 100% sure where exactly. Probably when they ran out of the old intakes. I know my truck uses O2 sensors from the 2002 5.9 Ram. They must have run thru all the round plug connectors.

And then there's the one last reason:

I "might" have been fishing for a reason to get a performance intake.

Isn't $555 kind of high? Summit has them for $296 natural finish. Unless it's a polished finish one. Might look nicer, but geez.

the pictures are well done
and have impressive depth of focus

if a Canon SD500 compact camera does that well it is worth a look

That manifold is gonna bump the power band up 1000 rpm. So the bottom end is going to be lost.

Nah, the 4.10 gears and 1.7 rr will more than compensate for that. besides I believe it's just the performer, not the performer RPM he's sending me. Maybe I'll get even luckier than I thought.

That one you see on summit's site for $300 is a dual plane, not a single plane and it's for carbed applications (no FI ports). That's why the big difference in price.

I effectively moved the powerband up anyway when I cut the runners, I doubt I'll see anything but improved performance across the board but I promise to remain objective when I report after I install it.

It might be "cause" for some upgraded heads though....
