Still pings, can't get the CEL to flash again.

Need to see about doing a compression test at this point, I think. EVERY sensor that could cause this has been replaced at some point.

i installed at home made oil catch can like you did and it works great. it prevented alot of oil from going into the intake had to empty it once so far (3,000miles). i use to get ping under part throttle but now now more.
i installed the oil catch can, ran 2 tankfuls(35gal) of Seafoam (two cans per tank) and use carb. cleaner to clean the sensors and down the throttle body and that stopped the ping.
i since then installed at MSD-6A with Autolite XP (XP3924) gapped to 0.50 now it idles alot soother and no ping under part or full throttle

Well, Here's the result of the compression test I ran. I'll list them by adjoining cylinders for ease:

#8: 165 #7: 165
#6: 158 #5: 161
#4: 155 #3: 161
#2: 160 #1: 159

So I'm not losing compression. IDK if a leak down test would tell me anything if the compression test checks out.

your still debugging a problem you had prior to the manifold swap, whatever it is, it effects all cylinders and not 1. you need to look for problems that will effect all cylinders. Cranks sensor, cam sensor (fuel sync), vacuum signal (what happens under load to it... any fluttering or is it solid), fuel pressure under load (is it holding to spec under high demand?)

and lastly... did you grease the hydrolic flux inductor? <jk>

Your compression numbers are good and even. I don't think a leak down test is going to tell you anything more. Based on the story so far, we know that the pinging stops when the octane is raised and/or timing is retarded, correct? Can you view your ignition timing settings with your SCT?
