Definitely can't fit 315's if you have no lift. My uncle has a 2nd generation dodge and he has 285's. That is the highest you can go I believe because he tried 305's and they did not fit.

Now stay with me here. I have a 3rd generation dodge ram and I just (this weekend) put 305's on it and they do fit. You can see that I had a lot fo questions about it as well. https://dodgeforum.com/m_146233/tm.htm I would not recommend you go any higher than 285's if you have a 2nd generation since we have a few people who can say for sure that they fit.

Toyo now makes a 295 75-15 tire (Open Country) which will be going on my truck in a few months. Open Country's are pretty good overall in my experience.

I have a 3" Skyjacker lift on my 01 Ram with the Offroad package and have 33"s and they are very close to rubbing not sure but I don't think they do but they are very close so I don't think see how you could fit 35"s with a 3" lift. I want 35"s as I think the gap in the back between the tire and wheel well is a little big I don't think 35"s would fit up front without rubbing I could be wrong though. I say get a 2 or 3" lift and put 33"s on there. I have BFG Mud Terrain tires and a lot of people seem to love them.

I think it also depends on the rim and offset that the rim has. if you have the right rim, it'll push the tire out enough to prevent rubbing.

A lot of tire fitman problems occur with rim selection, you need to be careful what kind of backspacing you want on the rims. When my 97 ram1500 was stock, I ran 33s with average backspacing and they rubbed minimally. Currently I run 35's with 8inches of lift in the front and the tires barely fit because the rims they're on have no backspacing. This means the tires stick out further, and the turning radius is bigger. You will never fit 35's stock. Don't forget to look into steering problems when lifting your truck as well.
