She is a reliable, but I can't see dumping that much in my truck when the value is so little. www.kbb.com its sickening.
Also, KBB is weighted for stealerships and is widely regarded anymore as inaccurate. NADA is OK, I find edmunds.com to be the most accurate to my region's current prices.

That's where I originally got the idea from. For now I'll focus on getting a Detroit TrueTrac for the rear. I'd like to get it in before winter starts, but who knows. The mechanic that helped me with the rear differential last summer said he'll put it for $100, can't beat that. I'd love to have that safety factor in the winter up here in Maine, or when I do the occasional off roading session. Thanks for the information guys.

Sure that is very true. But for me my plan is to drive this truck for two more years, then pick up a used powerwagon and be done with it. An 05 was on ebay and went for 22,000 with 20,000 miles in pristine condition. Thats half of what they cost new. In a few more years, that truck will go down further, but... that truck already has everything I want. Already has 4.56 gears, already come stock sitting on 33's, has a 5spd (or 6spd), comes with a limited slip rear that locks at the push of a button and I believe its the same in the front. It even comes with a winch. Sure you won't get the appreciation for "built not bought" like I would with this truck, but the powerwagon would be a heck of a lot easier on the wallet as far as "not dumping money into a vehicle." It already comes that way. The only thing that turns me away from the power wagon is the fact that dodge really hasn't improved its fuel economy in a long time. Even with my buddy's 08 with MDS, he still isn't getting much better than I am (1 or 2 at most). I would expect him to get better with a 5spd trans anyway.
