Is this Keggar mod too radical?

I need to be edumacated here.
That's assuming the the kegger has no room for improvement, which it does. What if the Keg was a restriction in the system for producing power?

I would be careful of the auction for two reasons. First, in the description he lists that he does not accept paypal but in the payment portion of the auction it lists paypal as the only method of payment. That is something that I would want cleared up before I bid. Second, his fedback is under 95%. When feedback gets that low I start to become leary of the seller.

+1. I noticed this as well. If has few enough feedback ratings, sometimes all it takes is one jerk to mess it up. But if they have more than one bad feedback rating, and below 95%, I agree with you. I'd be leary as well.

I don't buy stuff from people at or below 95%...not worth it to me! I want to do the mod but I don't have a garage and can't have my truck down for any time....guess I could go to a junkyard.

Any experience on what year kegger would be easiest for me to modify for my 1998 5.9L?? Hopefully a year that has the center divider missing?!?!

Aim4Squirrels, I have a '99 1500 which is bone stock right now other than a round air filter, Mopar 7.5MM plug wires, and a copper distributor cap. Planned mods include a Fastman TB, high flow cat, Flowmaster 40 muffler. Haven't included exhaust manifolds on the list since I understand the performance improvement is negligible for a VERY light duty truck (no hauling, racing, or even daily use). BTW I sold my 04 Cummings TD just as fuel prices were getting outrageous and discovered my driveway just had to have a truck!

the factory kegger intake runner is about 15.5 inches long along the centerline

the magnum cylinder head has about 4.5 more inches in the intake port

combined together this 20 inch long intake runner length 'tunes' the manifold to provide a boost in torque in the 3400 to 3800 rpm range

cutting the total length down to 18 inches or so is going to move the boost in torque to a higher rpm

maximum horsepower at 4000 rpm will go up a bit

when 'daily driving the truck in the 1500 to 2500 rpm range
at full throttle
the engine will a bit weaker
but since most daily driving is at part throttle
you will just compensate by giving it a bit more throttle

when in overdrive gear going up highway hills
you might be able to detect that the truck downshifts a bit earlier
than with the factory length runner

8L iron V10's have about 29 inch total runner

5.7 Hemi's have approximately 31 inch runners, a portion of which is smoother plastic

Great info, Hank. That's why I thought steep gears would be helpful.
