Is this Keggar mod too radical?
I have been following threads on intake manifold mods and understand enough to decide to go with it. Don't have the time or tools, but primarily the talent to do it myself so I started looking around. Found this item on Ebay:

It looks like the runners have been completely shaved and I wonder if this is too much and what performance problems this may cause. Also curious about the price, i.e. is it less costly to buy a used intake and deliver to a machine shop for the mod? Any advice is truly appreciated.

Those runners have NOT been completely cut down.
Looks like a decent job from the small picture, and it's been ceramic coated, which is a plus for heat and easy cleanability.
Price is pretty good if it doesn't get run up.

Those runners "look" to be cut down about 1.5 inches. You can still see a little of the runner coming off of the inside of the keg. You shouldn't lose too much of the low end of the truck. Are you running a mostly stock truck? 5.2 or 5.9?
Also, I don't see a belly pan pictured there, so you might want to ask the seller what he's sending you, as you might also want to invest in a APS or Hughes plenum pan. I strongly recommend a Felpro plenum gasket and intake gaskets. You can get the intake gasket "kit" at rockauto.com from cheaper than anywhere local.
Also, if you win the bid, just give the paint job a good once over to make sure it's painted on there solid. You don't want that stuff sloughing off into your engine.

(Just ask me to point on the doll where he tried to touch me)

I'm curious because I thought when you shorten intake runners, you need to push through a lot more air like a SC or turbo. Without gears 4.10 or steeper I think you will lose power on the low end.
