Help!!!!
Ok well this morning i left to go to work and my 96 dodge 1500 with the 5.9 gas, started up just fine but i could tell somthing was up. when i would let off the gas it felt like something was restricting the engine but it had happened before and it worked it self out. well i get about 2 mins away from work and my rpms drop to 200 and just goes between 400 and 200 rpms, it dies as im turning onto a side street.
i let it sit and i try and start it, it starts but it doesnt go up to 1500 rpms like usall and then idle out. it hits maybe 700 and drops to 200-400 rpms. my buddy gets there and he trys to start it and it does the samething as before. i ask him to start it again and when he does i tell him to hit the gas and when he does it sounds like its sucking in air but not getting enough fuel.
so i just found out that it doesnt have a seperate fuel filter, the filter and the pump is one unit. my question is is there anything else i should do before taking the time to replace the pump?
should i go and get a fuel pressure reg and see if its the pump?
if so what should my pressure be at?
or should i just got get it done?

well i looked into the intake and there is not oil pooling, im going to clean the iac and the tps sensor tommorow. here is what i have done, i took the pressure cap off and i pushed the pin in the center and a little gas came out, i then had my buddy press the pin ad i tried to start it and there was nothing coming out of the check valve. so what do yall think signs leading towards a fuel pump?

well i went ahead and bought the new pump only cause they had one left and in the past iv had bad luck just hoping it would be there when i needed it and it not being there. so i went and got that and then low and behold i broke off the hose barb for the turnover valve so yea. im going to get the electronic cleaner tomorrow and see if it works.
