another o2 question
my front o2 sensor is done, wires are torn, and sensor is giveing me really horrible gas milage. i know the rear on only controls the cat efficiancy, can i take the rear one out and put it in the front bung and make it work?
You need both sensors to be operating at efficiency. They should be changed out around 60K miles, so do it right and replace both sensors right now. It may run you $100 in parts, but that's cheap insurance.
well the reason why i ask is because my cat is gutted that is going to be reading bad anyway. i dont have the money right now to buy even one of the sensors tahts why i am asking, once i run upon a good pay check. i am going to buy them both and not mess around but until then i would like to not have to stop at every gas station i see to put gas in her. and i have no idea when they were replaced last because the owner before me did not take a log of what was changed on this truck. i pretty much got screwed when i bought it. 4 wheel didnt work, a few lights were out, had no radio. but i was in despirt need of a truck cause i had just gotten down here and was going crazy in the barreks. but anyway. yea so for now. maybe for about two weeks would this help me any?
when i first got the truck, i could get alright gas mileage, it was all depending on how i drove, but now. the truck can idle and i can watch the needle. but all i want to know is that if the two sensors, Front Vs Rear, are interchangable
Thats right, the plugs are different.

The connectors are different but the sensors are the same.
You can disassemble the connectors and remove them without damaging the wiring. (I've done it)
My rear O2 was seized in the pipe and the threads were toast wen I got it out.
I removed it's connector and swapped it over to an old Front O2 I had. took about 20 mins but it's still working fine a year later.
