Default Standing water in cab

Hey everybody! I'm new here, been waiting 2 days for my account to allow me to finally make posts! I'll say this first, if I "sound like a girl" I'm really sorry. I feel like a retard when I talk about my truck because I truly know little about trucks. Though, please don't talk to me too much like a kid, because I do know my way around the basics. In fact, I'm on another forum and Just completed an entire engine swap in one of my Hondas. I just hit a wall kind of when it comes to my truck.

I've got a 95 Ram 1500. It's in good condition, nice paint, only 82,000 miles, new tranny at 52,000. I'm the 3rd owner, but just purchased it from my folks, who've had it since 20,000 miles. They've kept the truck in good condition, exelant really, even though it's always lived outside.

The problem is that after recent rain, the truck is taking on water into the cab. It had this issue a while back, last year or maybe it was the year before. My step dad had thought he fixed it. Apparently not.

The ONLY part of the truck that is wet is the carpet. And it's soaked. Like, if you push on the rug a little bit, then the water rises above the carpet pile

The stereo has been on the fritz and we assume it's due to the excess moisture. It mostly doesn't work but when it does it sometimes picks up another signal, and then freezes. I can even shut it off and the "other channel" keeps playing. I'll probably make a thread on that in a little while.

The truck lives at my folks place, because of my current living arrangements. 3 vehicles isn't exactly welcome at my apartments :P

This is a picture of where my truck is parked. (The Honda is my project car, the one I just swapped engines in). It's the only picture I have of where my truck is primarily parked. See the portion of garage that's actually finished? The truck is normally parked in front of that. Those are pine trees. They clog the gutters of the garage, but haven't appeared to fall all over the vehicles.

Anybody else with this problem?

Thats kinda different... Have you checked the rubber weather stripping between the door and the cab? make sure there isnt an antifreeze smell to the water either.
Are there holes in the roof???

hehehe. No.

The weather stripping looks fine. And, besides, the doors are never wet, or the dash. Not the seats either,it's always just the floor.

The windshield is in good shape, but I'm thinking it's original, I'll have to ask the folks for sure.

I HATE searching for leaks. Only leak I've had before is in my 86 (the one in the pic) it's got a small leak in the hatch, but at least it was easy to find and will be easy to deal with. Plus that one is tiny, and the truck- well, the carpet on BOTH sides just gets soaked.

This problem is well documented in this forum. Do a search.

I had this problem as well. For me, replacing the 3rd brake light gasket fixed it. When I took the light out, it was obvious why it leaked - gasket was not installed correctly in factory.

my '96 ram had the same problem.turns out the door pins were wore out, thus not allowing the door to seal on rubber properly.replaced door pins and bushings and the leak was gone.

Another common leak is around the high mount stop light on the back of the cab. Water can get to floor from there with nothing else getting wet.
