mine does not "hunt" for gears. mine shifts fine. i just like trying to save wear and tear on the trans. and i feel that not shifting into overdrive till up to a good speed helps.

Thats really interesting. Does it state it will change the shifting habits? Might be something I'd want.

it might change the shifts a little from the power you would gain from a tuner.

are trans are not controlled that way,so you actually cannt change the shift points.

The motor is working easier not harder, the only validity of that statement is that the RPMS will be alittle higher so you will use alittle more gas...So if what you say holds true, then im not going to get 4.56 gears with 33" tires im going to get 2.73 hears so the motors at a lower RPM and doesnt work as hard...eh

The thing I hate is that a lot of the city streets around here are 45 mph, and during easy driving in the 45-50 mph range my truck goes into OD. That leads to a lot of unnecessary shifting from OD to D and back to OD that is eliminated by keeping OD off. Plus the 45 mph+ pickup is much better in D.

Unless I have misread a dozen or more posts on our trannies over the time I've been here, thats impossible to do just with a tuner on our trucks.

The computer, I think, can possibly help with how firm the tranny shifts, but the actual 1-2 and 2-3 shifts have almost nothing to do with the computer. That cable next to the TB does that. The 3-4 shift, and the torque converter lockup, thats controlled completely by computer. Is it possible your mistaking one of the shifts with the TC, or you were before, and the SCT changed where it locks up?
