It would be load as s**t. If your asking if its going to throw any CEL's at you without the muffler, no. As long as your O2 sensor is still on after the cat your fine.

Yea it would just be very, very loud. There would be a good chance you would get pulled over.

You would be fine as far as messing anything up, if that's what your wondering about... Where you have to be careful is a lack of backpressure (i.e.-no cat, no muffler, short pipes) with stock internals. Stock engine parts aren't designed to run with little or no back pressure, which is why you need forged internals to run that set-up. But you would not be hurting anything except people's ears...

Not a "good chance". He will. Plus, no back pressure will make it run like crap.

With the stock converter and a single exhaust tube it should have enough back pressure to keep from running crappy, shouldn't it? I could see it maybe losing a bit of TQ, but not running like crap. The reason I ask this is because I have the stock converter with a 2.5 into a single glasspack (which is essentially a straight pipe) then a side exit and I don't run like crap. Not trying to argue, BTW. Just wondering...

what about running everything except for the pipes coming out of the muffler would that mess with the back pressure?

Are you asking about cat--> muffler --> no pipe? That would be fine, but I would dump it straight down...would sound better.

Hell, it's not my truck. Run it however you all want. I'm on enough auto forums to know when people post a question *NOT* to look for an answer, but to find support for their opinion/"idea", which is essentially hack work. Anyone who disagrees is instantly labeled a "hater" who does not appreciate new ideas.

Run one of those O2 dummy sensors and cut the pipe off after the collector. Then, come whining when you get a ticket for driving without a muffler.

no saying everything from the end of the muffler back. keeping the cat the pipes the muffler but taking off the pipes that come out of the muffler. would it effect anything?
