No muffler?? does it hurt anything???

On a stock engine with a single exit exhaust, a regular flow cat would be enough back pressure, since the exhaust pressure is less. When you start more engine/HP mods with more air in, you get a higher exhaust flow, which needs higher back pressure to properly operate. With a stock engine, you don't really need that much back pressure.

Hell, it's not my truck. Run it however you all want. I'm on enough auto forums to know when people post a question *NOT* to look for an answer, but to find support for their opinion/"idea", which is essentially hack work. Anyone who disagrees is instantly labeled a "hater" who does not appreciate new ideas.
Run one of those O2 dummy sensors and cut the pipe off after the collector. Then, come whining when you get a ticket for driving without a muffler.

Sorry for jacking this post...

Contrary to what most people have stated, I do not think that the exhaust would be EXTREMELY loud to the point that he would get pulled over all the time. My roommate has the stock exhaust system on his dodge except he has removed the muffler and installed a pipe in its place (and left the cat on). It is by no means ridiculously loud. Heck, I think my stock cat with a flowmaster is just as loud.
But one things for sure, it doesn't sound as good as a flowmaster

i am currently running without a muffler.. just the cat.. and i have not gotten pulled over for it. I have been pulled over a bunch of times and only one cop has ever noticed. I like the sound... it isnt ridiculously loud but you know its there. The sound is choppier if you dont have a muffler but i like it a little louder so i took off my flowmaster.
