Tire kind and size
To go along with Breeze's thread. I just want to upgrade with a taller tire, would I go with 265s or 80s from stock 2001 ram 1500 with 3.55 and 318? Still a little confused.
Also, would ya'll go with Firestone Destination A/T or other all terrain?

What tire are you running now? On a 16" rim, a 265/75R16 will have you at about 31.6" x 10.4", and a 285/75R16 will get you about 32.8" x 11.4". Most people recommend not going above a 285 with 3.55 gears. Firestone's are good tires, but for an all-around AT with good wear, ride comfort, etc., I like the BFG AT's. I think they are the best looking AT, too. When I get new rubber, it will either be the BFG's or Nitto Terra Grapplers.
you want to go tall and not wider you can go with
255/85/16= 33.1
235/85/16= 31.7

LOL ok then. I would go with BFG All Terrain T/A's
I am running stock size, 245/75/16. Yes, I would just like a little better height. If I go to 265, that puts me at 10.5 inch wide, the 85 height to 33 in would be awsome. Just reading about the rear end and best fit wanted me to ask. I have BFG AT's on a Tacoma and they were great, but they don't through mud, snow, grass well. I will still spend the vast majority of my time on road, but from oct - dec I am hunting and in some pretty hairy off road mud, snow, ruts, etc situations, and want a tire that will perform well there too. Difficult to get both, but Firestones get great reviews on Tire Rack, better than the BFGs.

They make BFG Mud Terrain KM and KM2 in a 255/85R16...those KM2's are bad! That would put you at 33x10...not a bad choice...if you don't care to pay about $200/tire.
