Another exhaust question
I know take it easy on me!
I have an 01 Ram w/360. I currently have a factory exhaust system. I am going to put on a single Dynomax ultraflo muffler going out the side through 2.5 inch pipe.
Should I replace the cat. with a straight pipe w/ the o2 sensors screwed into some modified nonfoulers. Or should I just leave the cat. on and just go with the new muffler dumped out the side. I do not want to lose any torque as some people have stated. Let me know what the masses think.

Check or have the cat checked first, if it's ok leave it on. If not, get a high flow like a Magnaflow. I did not notice much, if any at all, seat of the pants low end loss with the Magnaflow cat. Most if not all people (except me for some reason)don't have the prob with the o2 sensors.
either way you wont notice it I can assure you.I have gutted cats on many of my cars/trucks and never noticed a diff either way.I am done messing with them until they clog cause its too much work for no noticable gains.
Hey thanks for your input. Looks like I will only be putting on the Ultraflo muffler, like they say work smarter not harder. Thanks again!!

They only have 3 inch pipe after the muffler. The rest is 2.5 inch...mine was anyway.
I have mine side swept in front of the right rear tire, and I like it a lot. Plus, it eliminated a BUNCH of extra pipe.
