Default bored today and this is what it got me

has anyone does this on there Ram?
i put 2 layers of quick roof (cheap dynamat) and a think layer of elastomeric paint and after it dries .25" padding under the carpet.
just trying to make it quieter when i am driving around town
i did a measurement on noise level on my iphone and will do another one after i am finish with the floor board.
then my next project will be the doors

you'll notice way more reduction in sound from doing the doors. habeba86 has done a great writeup in the audio/visual subforum:

doing the doors is my next project maybe next weekend if i have nothing else to do.
i have everything installed and ready to drive but now the battery is DEAD
left both doors open when i had a fan on to let the paint dry faster.
so i have it on a small charger.

Since i have the everything out i did clean the carpet twice with degreaser and water hose then after dried again with a little green machine.
seat had the same workup.
now reinstalled it smells alot better and with 2 lays of water repellant.
now just waiting for my test ride.

the doors did help out on keeping out the noise
now at 60mph i show 85 on the iphone
not see like alot but you can tell there is something different
also, i replace the old factor speakers
now i have a clean sounding truck
only thing left is making it run better
hahaaaa

the first reading i got was 90db at 60
i know 5 does not seem like much but i think it was worth it
