Default New to Rammin, how can I tell my tranny?

Hi all, I'm new to Ramin, just aquired a 99 Sport 4X4 and was wondering how can I tell which model tranny is in this unit?

You got a 46RE. If it seems like it's working fine. Change the fluid and filter(don't have it flushed) Use ATF+4 fluid, adjust the bands, don't use OD under 60 mph or when towing, add a trans cooler,remove the check valve and you should be good to go.

Thanks very much, well I have the diaq code P0740 and wanted to read the info about the Torque converter, it's clutch and related systems. This code seems to be the least specific of them all, just a "malfunction of the TCC

Yup, 46RE. 1994-1995 have 46RH if you have one of the V8s, 42RH if you had the V6. 1996+ have 46RE if you have the V8s, 42RE if you have the V6.

Now that I know my transmission model I will research further, and compile a description of whats going on with it, then chase down that professional transmission guy on here and see if he can diag it.
