Default O2 sensor

Is there a preferred brand / manufacture make of O2 sensors for our Trucks? I tried searching, but the search function omitted the word O2

NGK?
Bosch?
Mopar?
eBay?

the NTK (made by NGK) O2 sensors are the OEM replacements and better than the Bosch ones IMHO.

It could vary by model year and pre vs. post cat. Or do you have the type that is straight into the middle of the cat?

Try looking up your part by vehicle selection at napaonline.com They give you pics and if you see NTK or NGK in the part description then that's the one you want.

yea, I got the one that goes straight into the cat. I am replacing the cat and might as well replace the o2 sensor in it while I'm at it.

..... but, napa, autozone, NGK all list before or after cat

The one "in" the cat is the same as "before" the cat, I believe. (At least, in parts descriptions anyway.)

Most later models (1999-up, maybe some 1998s as well) had a y-pipe going into a converter with the sensor before the y-pipe, rather than one in the converter.

For the record.......

I went to the dealer today and asked about the sensor. It is called the downstream sensor.

If it is before the cat or in the cat it is the UPSTREAM! After the cat is DOWNSTREAM.
