Ya, ive had bad luck with everything that I have put in my diff.
except for the stock open but it dident hook up.
My first auburn went out (and this one I was really hard on, lots od burnouts and doughtnuts to kill the old tires) and it slowly hooked up less and less and then it was only a 1 tire fire. Auburn replaced that one for me, and the one that I have in there now was never burned out with, never did a doughnut except for on snow, and got offroaded a few times and I can already tell its starting to loosen up.
The auburn is a ridiculous design, the clutch packs have no clutch material on them at all!!! the cones are metal, and they rub against metal!!!! so EVERYTIME that it slips its putting metal into your oil that gets ran through all of your gears.
And I know its not my installation that is causing the problems because I installed my front and rear 4.56 gears my self, and those haven't given me any problems, and the lsd is a cake walk install compared to the gears.
sorry to hijack.

My Auburn has treated me fine soo far and most of the people I've heard from that have it like it but I have heard a few bad reviews. Heard a few bad things about the Detroit too though.
The poster above used to be SirHilton and he offroads or at least used to offroad that truck pretty hard so the Auburn may not be the best for that but I think it's great for street driving with mild offroading.
