Default Transmission identification

Can someone break down this transmission id from my 94 Ram,1500, 2 wheel drive?
PK52118324 1945 1140
I know from reading past posts that it says the build date, and a serial number. Does this number tell me exactly what tranny I have. By reading the posts I probably have a 46RH, but I want to be sure. Does the PK5211 refer to the 46RH?
Any help would be appreciated.

Dodge only used two different automatic transmissions for 1994-2001 model years of 1500s and the Dakotas. The 42RH (1994-1995)/42RE(1996+) for V6 applications, the 46RH/46RE for V8 applications.

You have a 46RE, simple as that. Also referred to as a 518 at times. But they are not all the same.

Somewhere in the FAQ/DIY section I believe there is a thread that tells how you can obtain a build sheet on your truck. It will tell you which options and what equipment came on the truck. Handy to have around. They respond very quicly in an e-mail. Jeep will not send it if you are not the registered owner, citing security issues, but Dodge does not get that p*****.

I guess national security may be at risk if I knew what equipment came on my brother in law's jeep............

Here is the link to get a build sheet. But it does not change the fact that he has a 46RE tranny. http://www.dodge.com/wccsapp/univers...ull&category=U

This is true, but it may help him with other items such as rear end and other things he will surely need to know about in the future.

Can you look at the transmission and tell them apart, or do you need the build sheet?

I have a 99 1500, 4wd
