Of course you can judge whatever you want, but unless you've tried them, you can't accurately judge them.

Negative side effects? Not sure what happened there, but you've had a different experience than 95% (or whatever) of people on this forum. I'm not saying I got 50% again the HP or anything, but every upgrade I've tried (like the Fastman) has netted me at least a little something. The Fastman, for example, mostly acceleration increase at highway speeds. The end difference is probably only 10hp over stock at absolute most after my Fastman, CAI, and exhaust, and that might be being optimistic, but there is a difference, mostly in the acceleration.

According to you I am "wrong wrong wrong" but perhaps you are taking me too literally. Please, dont even try to write off the long history of automatic transmission problems these trucks have. As for differentials, mine went at 90k. Paint, mine is starting to go on my bed rail. Ball joints, gone at 100k. Same with wheel bearings.
Yet some people are on the same tranny for 150k+. Same differential.

You can't say ball joints going at 100k are bad. Ball joints are a wearable part if I recall correctly, they go out eventually on all 4WD trucks.

These trucks have problems, just like every other full size vehicle. Don't even try to write them off. If I searched for "Transmission,Problem" I can guarantee I'd get at least 500 threads about people with transmission problems.
Its a trouble forum. I give up, how many times do I have to tell people that every forum is going to look somewhat bad for the model of vehicle it represents, simply because people don't post saying "No problems, just saying 'hi". They post when they have trouble.

These transmissions don't take a lot of abuse, especially if not properly maintaned, I'll give you that. But writing them off as junk is not accurate.

Learn to recognize satire and sarcasm with you read it. Perhaps your truck's driver needs the oh so unpopular "reading compression" mod.
Yes, because sarcasm is so easy to get from a body of words typed into a post, where you can't see the person's face or recognize their personality. Especially when you are sarcastic and serious at different points in the same post.

Oh wait, was that last paragraph sarcastic?

You have your opinion, I have mine, but stating your opinion as a fact is wrong. Thats all I really wanted to get at.

Ok guys, I think we need to calm down just a bit. All WTL is asking is whether bolt on mods really make a worthwhile difference.
I personally think they do. The typical bolts ons (cai, headers, plugs, wires, etc.) are not magic 100hp power adders. They do, IMO, help the engine run more efficiently which in turn increases power output.
Are they worth it? well I think thats for the individual to decide. I found that with
opening up my engines ability to breath (cause they are just a big air pump) my truck
hesitated less, needed less throttle for acceleration, and didn't downshift as often
when climbing hills.

viper lives his life through others; brother works at chrysler and his neighbor has a
fastman. my advice is to just let him talk out his @$$ and ignore him.

People race shopping carts, people have even put slugs in a circle and raced them - so of course there are race trucks. Trucks werent designed to race by Dodge, the intended market was not racers, but that doesnt keep yall from doing it.

Reading comprehension will take you far in life and on the internet.
