Is this a stock "off road edition" suspension

Yeah, I caught that and thought it was weird, but I'm certainly not gonna call you a liar or not believe you. I'm am just stating what I know about my truck and my brothers off road ram (his was a 2001). Mine had 3 main leafs from the factory and his came with 4.
When you replaced the one leaf pack did it come with 4 leafs and the overload (I'm sure it did)? Where did you order it from?
Like you said already, maybe it something they changed to in 2001. Hell, maybe dodge just has all sorts of different oddball leaf setups. Wouldn't be the first time an auto manufacturer did something weird like that.

My packs are from an '01 short bed regular cab off road. I cannot find in any of my factory literature anything that off road packages come with more leaves, only that "special heavy duty springs" are used. I wish I had taken pics when I put the off road springs in my ram, we sat the coils next to each other and they measured the same, and also laid the rear springs on top of each other and they had (until I put the AAL in) the same number of leaves and the same arch.
I suppose it could have been (more leaves) a mid year change, but truck was built in Dec '99. Perhaps because mine was a fleet service truck with the tow package DC used a different spring. That would be possible, but not the strangest thing ma Mopar had ever done.
