viper, seriously dont worry about it...if you disagree with racing then click the little left arrow button on the top left of this thread, not too hard to comprehend...and in agreement with talon the 88 does not have a turbo, its a big slow slug pretty much registered at 85 mph, not too much trouble i wouldnt think i just wanted other opinions...and i was also looking for the 360 mainly since its also a gas 1500 and the motor is bigger as i wanted to know any personal experience between the two..thats all...thank you talon for not being a douche and giving some response that was useful

if there is no turbo you might have a sporting chance... And, Viper these are trucks, for the most part people know that they are slow, but that doesnt mean you cant still have fun with them. If I was at a stop light and a little sports car pulled up next to me, Id probably romp and screw with them too. I know they would leave me in the dust, but I know I can always go places they cant....

acsamples, the diesels weigh alot more, I'd guess 1500lbs more or so. You should take him off the line, but give that motor a chance to get up to 2500-3000 rpms, might be a diff. I never drove a non-turbo diesel, but i know my father in laws F250 7.3 powerstroke would dust my 360 in a longer race.
Not sure if this is any comparison but until I hit second gear i was neck and neck with a new honda pilot. By the time I my lane had to merge, i had to let off. So, our trucks aren't bad off the line.
good luck with your race, keep it safe.

To answer the question; I think the 360 is going to give you the hardest time. I can see
that you have some bolt-ons, which will help, but that truck will still give you a run for your money.
The '88 ford diesel, your going to eat him. I was helping a buddy move out of his apartment. I had
the bed filled with boxes of household items, towing a 5'x10' steel utility trailer with a couch,
dresser, a recliner, queen size headboard, oak computer desk, tv stand, and other misc. items but
the other guy with a '90? ford non-turbo diesel loaded with a bed frame, air conditioner, and a
couple of other small items and he couldn't keep up with me.
