Floor Dimmer
Does anyone have any idea, or have you ever placed a floor dimmer in and taken out the dimmer in the wiper/blinker arm? Just would make dimming easier with a 5 speed.

My 46 Ford had all these plus a button to change radio stations on the floor.
we've got an old ****** Jeep, i think its a 49, with the starter button in the floorboard. for lights, i don't think it even has bright and dim, just on/off. also, the windshield wipers are vacuum operated with the switch on the wiper motor. they don't working when going uphill.
as far as your 01. i've never heard of anyone doing that. but, all you've got to do is look at the wiring diagram in the manual below, identify the wires in the steering column bundle that run the lights, and splice them out to your own setup. you could leave the on/off switch original.

But why...? What is your left hand doing that doesn't involve the steering wheel? In all the manual vehicles I've ever owned, I've never ever had a problem doing this..
My Challenger had the floor switch. Annoying IMO.
