Default No left brake light, fast left blinker

Hi all,
Truck is a '99 Ram 1500 with the 5.9. Over the past few weeks I've noticed that every once in a while my left hand blinker will blink really fast for a second and then it will blink normally. Well today it started blinking real fast and now it's stuck that way. Whenever I turn on the left hand blinker it blinks at warp speed.

I friend of mine followed me home from work today and told me that my left brake light was out. Could these two problems be related? Will replacing the brake light bulb fix both problems? Where do I begin to diagnose this problem. Thanks in advance for any help.

The fast blinking LH turn signal usually means that the LH turn signal bulb is burned out.

Try changing that rear bulb and make sure your connections are clean and that should take care of it.

Mine started doing that too on both sides. I had to replace the turn signal fuse. Its one of the big silver round ones in the fuse panel

I think that is called the flasher?

I'm betting CSX's problem is the bulb.

If its just one side, its most likely just the bulb. If its both, its the flasher.

If you have power windows or seats there are big silver square fuses.
