the hose that is attached to the stock box has to go somewhere.. if the one i buy does not have an attachment then i would have to buy an additional filter.

OH !!! a mechanic ?? , the "hose" is a crank case breather , it takes the fumes out and puts in the air intake to get reused , states that have emissions would fail you if not there or hook up...

I could always just hook up the stock box when emissions time comes. and is it true about getting oil leaks if it is unplugged? im going to run into advanced later and price them and stuff.

yea if you start having motor problems it will start to burp oil up through that hose. That is why I just bought another filter and went with the K and N. I pulled my old fram paper filter off and over half of it was soaked in oil.

BTW if you buy the K and N replacement filter you shouldn't have to buy another air filter again.
I didnt really see or feel any improvements over the fram filter for a couple of days. I guess it just took that long for the computer to realize a difference in the air flow...

If you build a CAI, and do it right you shouldn't have to worry about the plastic melting. That's just my O2 though.
