You talkin drag racing or land speed? Banks Sidewinder Dakota w/ 5.9 Cummins set land speed record for a pickup like 5 years ago. Still hasnt been topped. Hypermax has a Ranger w/ 6.0 Powerstroke that was faster one way, but they didnt back it up. Theres also a white 06 longbed thats got twins on it, supposedly well over 1200hp, that was gonna do landspeed. Not sure if he ever ran...

Then you have the quickest CR in N. America. Drevers tan 05 up in Canada. I believe he ran a 9.8 or 9.9 at the end of the season. And this isnt a tube chassis racer. The interior is stripped of but one seat.

It was said up above that an 800hp diesel barely runs an 11.8. Ty Maitland has a MegaCab on 37s, believe it last dyno'd 756. Ran an 11.3 or there abouts. Damn impressive for that big of a truck to be running those times...thats the new ZR1 Corvette territory.

Theres Duramaxes that run quicker, but they have complete custom tuning at their disposal and the revs a V8 with lighter internals allows. The Cummins has HUGE rods compared to either of the V8s, and have significantly more mass to get turning. Plus the physics of the designs, V8 vs. I6, allow the V8 to rev quicker...
