Default cutout questions (exhaust)

wad up yall, i have cherrybomb extreme and a highflow cat , and some of the of the time its too loud sometimes. but i dont want it quite either big NO NO lol. i love my truck during the day.

i was thinking of putting on a quiter muffler so when i drive it late/early in the morning im not bothering people and cops. so i was thinking of putting cut-outs on . so its louder and annoying when i want, and just close it when i want my truck to be quite. i love my truck loud a f*ck. just not late at night or early in the morning. so some questions on cutouts

1) will it pass inspection
2)do they go on before or after cat
3)will it throw codes when its open
4)will a shop install these on my truck

p.s anyone have cutouts and where can we find them.

well i'm not sure if this is what your looking for because you would have to manually unscrew wingnuts evertime you wanted it loud but it does satisfy your needs. it will pass emissions as long as you have it closed and if put in your stock muffler location (after the cat) as a replacement shouldn't trigger any codes and a shop would install it. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...9&autoview=sku

No I think he is talking about something like this:
http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/...atalogId=10101

Or electronic version:

I've always wanted to do this but I had the exact same question as you...would I pass DEQ was primary...let me know! I would want to put mine before the cat is possible.

Well let us know, I'd be especially interested. I want the electronic version...just hard to justify $175 for something so simple!

Might be better to call your local DEQ than a shop....a shop will ALWAYS tell you "sure sure it's all good" for a sale

Plus it is simple to do yourself...cut, cut, place, weld, weld.

if it is b4 your o2 sensors then it will most likely throw a code unless its getting just enough fumes to tell the sensors something...i would just get one and put it right after the cat....you might be able to find cheaper ones on ebay or summit...what year is your truck?
